Cyprus exchange report - day 1

1st day (4th November):

Today the Asinou Primary School welcomed delegations from Poland and Slovenia. The excitement was palpable, and children's smiles lit up the atmosphere. After a warm traditional welcome, the guests were led to the school’s event hall, where they were introduced to the school and enjoyed a welcome program prepared by the teachers and students. The event featured dancing, songs, theatrical performances, an exchange of gifts, and heartfelt wishes. Following this, the three delegations had the chance to tour the school premises and classrooms and watch special presentations and traditional games prepared by the students from Cyprus.

Afterward, an art workshop was held where the children had the opportunity to create crafts, followed by a lecture from a forestry officer. After the lunch break, the delegations visited and toured the Panagia Asinou Church, a Christian temple dating back to the early 12th century. Panagia Asinou is located in the village of Nikitari and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It contains some of the island’s finest Byzantine frescoes, dating from the 12th to the 17th century.
