Mobility Seeds travelled in Slovenia

Day 1

Tuesday, April 8

Today marked the arrival of the Erasmus+ teams participating in the "Seeds of Change" project. The first team, from Cyprus, landed at Zagreb Airport at noon and spent a pleasant afternoon visiting the Botanical Garden in Zagreb, enjoying the natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere. Later in the day, at 17:20, the team from Poland arrived at the same airport. Once all groups had gathered, they began their journey to Maribor, Slovenia. The bus ride allowed everyone to rest and chat after a day of travel. Upon arrival in Maribor around 20:00, the teams checked in at Hotel Tabor, their accommodation for the program. The evening concluded with a warm dinner at the hotel, providing a great opportunity for everyone to relax and get to know each other better.

Day 2

Wednesday, April 9

The second day of our Erasmus+ experience began early with breakfast at Hotel Tabor, followed by our departure to OŠ Kungota. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed in the school courtyard and later in the gym, where a lovely reception set the tone for the day. The students and teachers made us feel incredibly welcome, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement. Welcome ceremony was full of songs, dances and smiling faces. After dividing into groups at the library, participants engaged in creative and interactive workshop activities that the students thoroughly enjoyed. The garden opening ceremony and the time capsule were a highlight, followed by a press conference and an inspiring lecture on soil revitalization in the permaculture garden. In the afternoon, we visited the Dreisiebner Farm, the famous slovenian heart, where we toured the wine cellar and enjoyed a delicious traditional dinner. We returned to Maribor in the evening full of beautiful memories! It was a day full of learning, connection, and unforgettable experiences.

Day 3

Thursday, April 10

Today was a day full of exploration and breathtaking views. After an early breakfast at Hotel Tabor, we departed for Ljubljana, where we visited the stunning Ljubljana Castle and enjoyed a guided tour along with some sightseeing around the city. The students were fascinated by the architecture and the stories behind the castle walls. In the afternoon, we continued our journey to Bled, where we toured the majestic Bled Castle, perched above the lake with its unforgettable scenery. Everyone was amazed by the view and took countless photos to capture the moment. On the way back to Maribor, we stopped in Trojane for some delicious doughnuts, a sweet treat that everyone loved. We returned to the hotel just in time for dinner, tired but happy after a truly memorable day filled with culture, nature, and fun moments together.

Day 4

Friday, April 11

Our fourth day started with a relaxed breakfast at Hotel Tabor before we set off on foot to explore the beautiful and historical city center of Maribor. The morning walk was refreshing, and the city’s charm instantly captured everyone’s attention. At 9:00, we visited the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, where we attended an insightful lecture on sustainability—an important topic that resonated with the goals of our Erasmus+ project. Lunch at Restaurant Piano was a delightful break before we headed to the Faculty of Arts for creative workshops that encouraged collaboration and expression. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a guided city tour, learning about Maribor’s history and culture. Later, we had free time for shopping and relaxing at Europark, which the students really appreciated. We returned to the hotel in the evening and ended the day with a pleasant dinner, full of conversation and laughter, reflecting on everything we had experienced.

Day 5

Saturday, April 12

Our final day began with breakfast at Hotel Tabor, followed by an early departure for a day full of nature and learning. Our first stop was at the Ormož Lagoons, where we participated in birdwatching activities and took part in engaging environmental workshops. The students were thrilled to observe the rich biodiversity of the area. We then made our way to the Beaver Center, an environmental education center, where we joined an informative program focused on local ecosystems and sustainability. These outdoor learning experiences deeply impressed both students and teachers alike. In the evening, we arrived in Svečina, where a beautiful cultural program awaited us at the Cultural Center. The warm welcome and heartfelt performances prepared by the local school and community moved us all. It was a beautiful evening, filled with music, acting and lots of emotional moments. As we returned to the hotel, we couldn’t help but reflect on what a meaningful and inspiring week this had been—full of experiences, connections, and memories that we will carry with us for a long time.

The mobility in Slovenia marked the final chapter of a beautiful journey that began in Poland, continued in Cyprus, and concluded in the picturesque landscapes of Slovenia. This final stop brought together all the values, knowledge, and friendships cultivated throughout the "Seeds of Change" project, offering participants an enriching and unforgettable experience.

From the warm welcome in Zagreb to the lively streets of Maribor, students and teachers from Cyprus and Poland had the chance to dive into Slovenian culture, history, and educational life. Visits to historical sites like Ljubljana and Bled Castles were not only captivating but also deepened their understanding of European heritage. At OŠ Kungota, the heart of the program, participants joined in creative workshops, a touching garden opening ceremony, and a press conference focused on sustainability and environmental awareness.

Educational visits to institutions such as the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the Faculty of Arts gave students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and explore key sustainability topics. In addition, trips to natural areas like the Ormož Lagoons and the Beaver Environmental Center allowed the groups to witness birdwatching activities and engage in environmental education programs in the heart of nature.

The cultural event at Svečina was a deeply emotional and meaningful moment. Organized by the school and the local community, it celebrated the bonds created during the program and reminded everyone of the strength of unity and collaboration across borders.

This final stage in Slovenia offered not only learning experiences but also moments of connection, inspiration, and joy. As the week came to an end, all participants returned home with valuable knowledge, beautiful memories, and the sense that they had truly planted the seeds of change — in themselves and in the world around them.
