SEEDS OF CHANGE, CYPRUS EXCHANGE REPORT: 4th day (7th November)

4th day (7th November):
the morning began with a journey through the villages of the community, where many surprises awaited the delegations from the locals. The first stop was the village of Kannavia, where they met with the village mayor, and together they made “palouze”, a Cypriot dessert made from grapes and nuts. The next visit was to the village of Nikitari, where they made bread and pies filled with local cheese.
Just before noon, the delegations returned to the school, where students participated in the "Earth Balloon" workshop. This gave them the opportunity to see the Earth from above and explore continents and seas. The creation of the Earth, the Greenhouse Effect, and Climate Change were the main topics discussed.
After the workshop, the guests, along with the schoolchildren, went to the Garden of Senses, a garden created by the children and teachers of the school. There, they planted various herbs and an olive tree, a symbol of peace and friendship. They also placed a variety of mementos, which each delegation had brought from their country, into a time capsule.
In the afternoon, we visited the village of Potami, followed by a workshop in the Queen’s Gardens. The guests had the opportunity to make honey pies, while in the village of Vyzakia, they visited the Folklore Museum and the Church of Archangel Michael.
The day couldn’t end without food, drink, music, and dance. The school’s parent association organized a large party with a barbeque and live traditional dance performed by a local dance group.
It was the perfect ending to the last night on the island. Music, dance, joy, and smiles accompanied our beautiful night.
