3rd day (6th November):

the school groups visited the beautiful city of Limassol, located in the southern part of the island. Our first stop was at the Akrotiri Environmental Education Center, where we participated in the program "The Sea and its Treasures." The students and their teachers had the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the marine world and to deepen their interest in both marine and coastal ecosystems. They were also informed about the problems facing coastal ecosystems in our region and more broadly in the Mediterranean basin, mainly due to tourism development. However, the greatest benefit was the direct experience of the sea itself and the emotions it evokes in people.

After enjoying lunch at a restaurant in the Old Port area of Limassol, we were given a guided tour by a professional guide at the city’s Medieval Castle and the historic center surrounding it. Finally, the groups had the opportunity to explore the Old Port area and the Marina, taste local delicacies, and purchase souvenirs. The day ended with dinner at a restaurant in Kakopetria.
