2nd day (5th November):

The schedule included a trip to the island’s capital, Nicosia. First, the groups visited the Athalassa Lake wetland. There, students closely studied its features (biotic and abiotic), observed the birds that inhabit the area, and engaged in experiential, hands-on activities in the wetland study field. Finally, they learned about the dangers threatening the sustainability of wetlands due to human development. The experience was unique.

Afterwards, the groups headed to the historic center of Nicosia, where they had lunch. A guided tour followed, led by a professional guide, covering the main historical landmarks in the city center. The visit to Nicosia concluded with a stroll through the narrow streets of the old town. It was a truly beautiful and constructive trip, filled with images, scents, memories, and emotions.
